What Dryer Vent Cleaning Involves.

We disconnect the dryer, clear the transition hose, and run rotary brushing the full length of the vent out to the exterior termination. Lint is captured at the appliance end rather than blown into the room. Before we leave we check that the exterior flapper opens fully and confirm airflow at the hood, because a clean line with a stuck damper still traps moisture.

The Full Run, Not Just the Hose

Most lint sits in the middle of the run, especially in second-floor laundry rooms with long horizontal sections. We brush the whole length, elbows included.

Airflow Verified

We measure discharge at the exterior hood after cleaning and confirm the flapper seals and opens properly. You get the reading before we pack up.

When to Book a Dryer Vent Clean.

Annually for most households, twice a year if you run more than five loads a week or the vent run exceeds fifteen feet. Clothes needing two cycles to dry, a hot laundry room, a burning smell, or lint visible around the exterior hood all mean the line is restricted. Dryer lint is a leading cause of appliance fires in US homes, and the failure point is nearly always a blocked vent rather than the machine itself.

Longer Drying Times

If a normal load needs a second cycle, restricted airflow is the usual cause. Clearing the vent typically restores the original cycle time.

Emergency Slots

Blocked vents with a burning smell are treated as urgent. We hold same-day and next-day slots across Greenville County for these calls.
